I have a 1989 125 Force and am running a 13 1/4 x 19 pitch prop turning 4800 RPM's and 40 mph. It is on a 17 1/2 foot bass boat that weighs about 1400 fully loaded. Was wondering if anyone had any idea's on how to get more speed. I have a jack plate and I think I have it dialed in pretty close. I kept raising untill the speed dropped and then whent back daown a bit. I also have a 12 /34 x 17 pitch that will turn 5500 RPM's but only 36mph. any htoughts would be great. Thanks

Re: Prop help

I think you are there.
Nothing short of a miracle is going to get you to 50, and how hard do you want to work or how much money do you want to spend for 1 or 2 mph?

2 mph will only save you 3.6 seconds per mile traveled. Is that significant for your use?

Be happy, go fishing. :)
