I have a 110 HP Johnson on an 18' bass boat, and over the summer I hammered the prop. I am either looking to just get the one I have repaired, or replace it. The prop I have is 13 3/8 X 17. If I remember correctly the motor ran at about 5600-5800 RPM's but had a hard time getting on plane with other people in the boat with me. I am not going to be skiing or anything off of the boat just want speed. What direction can I go as far as changed the size of the prop?

Re: Prop help

Alot of marine companies will let you test out a prop for your boat to get the performance desired. Good luck

Re: Prop help

Really need to know the year of the motor.Need present max rpm and speed to see if your figures make sense.Assuming the tach is accurate you are at the max rpm perhaps a little high.Slow hole shot and that rpm really don't go together.Get your prop repaired or replaced then check rpm and speed.

Re: Prop help

The motor is an 89' Johnson 110. Where should my RPM's be at?

Re: Prop help

For the longest life on todays fuel, 5800 is a good target.
