I have a 1996 4.3 mercury, alpha one gen 2 outdrive,The prop has the old style pressed in hub, its a merc alum 3 blade 19 pitch prop. I want to buy a new prop and use the old one as a spare. Do I have to get the old style pressed in hub with a new prop or can I use the new style flow torq11 hub. I have been getting differant answers from people. I have looked it up here and same thing some say yes some say no.

Thanks Steve

Ayuh,... So long as ya use the matching hub kit, ya no problem, the new hubs fit the oldest to newest drives...

Re: prop hubs

Thanks, I was thinking about buying a prop here on I boats, and the hub that came with it is the new style. I just want to make sure it will fit

Re: prop hubs

yep the difference is the way it fits the prop, where it goes on the drive it is identical..... it'll make MUCH more sense to you when you see it in person.
