Prop Identification?

Going through some old stuff...I came across a brand new prop I forgot I had. Trouble is, its from one of my old boats and I can't remember which one. Is there a quick and easy method of isolating the brand at least? I think it may be from an old Mercruiser. It may be a rebuild, but it sure looks new.

Re: Prop Identification?

I'm out of town right now...I'll check it tomorrow evening. As best I recall, there is a 4 digit number on the hub and nothing else. Would it be helpful if I emailed a picture also?

Re: Prop Identification?

Ok...here's the info for you prop ID gurus:

Black painted steel prop, not for thru hub exhaust. The shaft would be 1 inch and there are 18 splines. It is a 13x17 prop bearing a stamped number "R180A" on the hub. On the outer face, around the shaft opening is stamped "A72265". The bearing race face (at the bronze side) is 2 inches, the back lip if the race is 2 3/4 inches. There is no keyway in the shaft opening, the end of the shaft opening (outside) has a through hole for a pin.

Any ideas?

Re: Prop Identification?

Hate to keep replying to my own posts, but more info...there is a 3 between the A and the 7. It looks like it might be from a Chrysler outboard. The 18 splines is one clue I've found. Does this help?
