Okay, i screwed up, '78 115 evinrude, changed a fastory prop that was spun to a 1319 hustler hub type prop, but...I did not have the big thrust washer behind it, ran it shortly, 10 min maybe, sure didnt scream! I took it back off when I got home and looked to see if anything appeared wrong, the seal looks fine and hte hub is not well seated in the prop ( i left it off cause it didnt seem it would fit-wrong!) Think I hurt anything, my fear was the seal would be eaten up but it seems untouched, the hub on the prop looked ok, anything else to look for? Also proper torque for the prop nut, I've seen 120 lb here and also just tight plus a hair, which is right?

You should be using the thrust bushing, spacer, propeller nut and a stainless cotter pin. The thrust bushing can be installed in the the propeller hub before placing the propeller on the shaft which may make installation easier.

On page 6-36 of your factory Service Manual OMC instructs to "Install and tighten propeller nut finger tight and then tighten to align next cotter pin hole".

I checked service manuals through 1984 to see if there was a change and found that there was not. If there had been a change, it should have been noted in a service bulletin, but I found no such reference.
