I was told by a mercury dealer that Mercury made the best aluminium props. Other companies like Michegan Wheel have more porous castings and aren't as good. What you you experts say about that???? Michegan Wheel is cheaper .

Yep, and AC Delco makes the best parts for Chebbys, and MotorCraft makes the best parts for Fords. "Not"!

At one time michigan wheel made props for several manufacurers, so I think they are probably on par with Merc.

Are they suggesting a prop might wear out?In 20 years of boating I've never had one last more than 2 seasons before I had to repair or replace.<br /><br /> Jim

Cuzner, I think you might be dragging on the rocks. A prop should last longer than that, even an alumn.

Actualy its the sand, We have some shallow sand bars on lake st claire I have to cross to get to the good bass spots.I've never broke one before,they just get bent if I don't pay attention and drift over one.<br /><br /> Jim
