FSM doesn't have a torque spec on the prop nut. The replacement kit (with plastic washer) says to torque 12-14 ft/lbs. I've read on here that if you have the brass washer its like 55 ft/lbs and 12-14 ft/lbs for the plastic washer. I currently have the brass washer (original I'm sure) and it's just finger tight, then put the pin through.
Do you really need to torque it that tight if you have the brass washer? Mine is finger tight and I've had no issues for a dozen or so trips now, it's also how the motor was when I bought it.
I bought the kit as a spare since I recently got a spare prop to keep in the boat, that's when I looked into the torque specs.
