Hello all,
I just picked up a 2002 16' Lowe Bass Striker 160, the boat has a 6 deg V hull and has a weight of 745#'s with a max cap of 985#'s.
The motor is a Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke (F9.9ELRA-6G9) it has a 3 blade 9 1/4" x 9 prop. And from what I found online runs at 4500-5500 rpm with a max of 5000 at WOT.
With two guys and gear I see 7-8 MPH at WOT running at around 4000 - 4500 RPM.
My question is, can I change to a different prop to get a bit more speed or is a new motor in my future? If I can change the prop what would be a good one to look at?
Thanks for the help.
