Hey guys:

I took the boat out today and after I jumped from the battery to the starter (Sylinoid went from the house to the ramp), at WOT here in Priest River (2,300') I am only getting 5,200RPM with me and 2 full size Golden Retrievers and ~1/2 tank of fuel.

Question is. I am running a 19P now, what RPM gain would I get from a 17P? The prop I have is Aluminum. I was getting a solid 6,000 at sea level.

Re: Prop Pitch question

Rule of thumb is 200 rpm for each degree of pitch change. So that's 400 rpm for 2 degrees, but I don't know how that rule is affected by high altitude.

Re: Prop Pitch question

You will get better hole shot, lower top end, and maybe a little better fuel economy. If its only hole shot your looking for there are other things you can do for about the price of a new prop. ( smart tabs)

Jim
