My Suzuki 140 comes with a 14 X 19 pitch prop. The spare prop I can get in 17 through 23 pitch.

Which is best for waterskiing?

What would be a good "Speed" prop pitch?

Advanced thanks, as I'm uniformed when it comes to props.

Re: Prop pitch question

Howdy, Ripsnort.

Selecting the "right" prop requires knowledge of the entire package. . .boat, load, engine. . . and testing on the water under the same conditions you expect to be using it.

Do a search for "Prop selection". You will have two or three cups of joe worth of reading.

Good luck. :)

Yep,
What JB says.......
The 19" you have Now,
Could be the Perfect Speed Prop, for YOUR boat,
Or, the 19" you have now,
Could be the Perfect Ski Prop, for YOUR boat......

Single Biggest Factor is;
What is the Recommended WOT of your motor ????
What WOT are you Spinning Now, with the 19" prop ???????

FYI, WOT = Wide Open Throttle.....
Under Load, with as close as possible to the total weight your boat Normally Sees........ ;)

Re: Prop pitch question

Thanks for replies. I should have checked with the Suzuki website first!

I'll use the 14 X 19 for watersports, and I'll use the 14 X 22" stainless for fishing.
