Prop pitch ?

I have a 75 merc 850 with a 21 pitch prop. I am running between 4400-4500 rpm's and i am having trouble plaining with a full tank of gas and another person in the boat. I have a 15' bass boat. The boat goes about 34-37 mph with two people in the boat. I was wondering what pitch i should go too. My recomended rpm's are 4800-5500.

A 17" pitch prop would probably give you a much better hole shot and get you up towards the top of your recommended rpm range without loss of speed.<br /><br />Props do vary so you may have to try several different ones until you find the one that works best for your rig. <br /><br />HTH........ed
