I have a 1977 OMC I/O and the current prop i have on there is a 14x14. It's really chewed up and I would like to get a new one.. the problem is I can't seem to find one.. Does the pitch have to be 14? i'm not really sure how that would effect the performance of the watercraft. Thanks

Re: prop pitch?

Before one of the prop experts (not me) can answer they will need some additional information. What were the rpm's at WOT, what engine and outdrive you have, and what you primarily use the boat for, ie: water skiing, fishing, cruising, etc.

Lower pitch = Higher rpm's and possibly less speed
Higher pitch = Lower rpm's and possibly more speed

As rndn said- Your current WOT rpm's and WOT speed will be needed for any advice.
