I'm getting ready to order a Michigan Wheel Aluminum prop for my deckboat. Current is a SS 14 X 13 turning 5k rpm's @ WOT. I'm going to get a 14 X 11 Aluminum.
Should I get the cupped or non-cupped blade?
My current prop is cupped. Whats the difference?

Thanks

Triggerr, the way I understand it (i'd be happy to be corrected by a prop expert) cupping helps to reduce ventilation, give better 'bite'.

On my boat I had a noticable difference when I got my prop cupped.

I think it was rodbolt that said it is easier to understand women than props.

Good luck.

Aldo

I read that cupping will allow you to run your o/b higher in the water column. This is due to the cupping gripping in while running in the unclean water. Probably helps a lot with jack plates on boats w/o a tunnel hull. It also helps to bite in on the turns.
