seems like if it misses the trim tab and ya reach wot. that would be what yer lookin for.....
as a side note, when i R&Red my prop, it didn't miss the tab. grind to fit.... or R&R to the next smaller tab. zinc....
there are different trust washer thickness's too. that'll mover yer prop fwd. if ya need to do that....i did.....went thinner.....good luck with her.......

Get a New 1,....... They come in all sizes,.....
From Massive to just a Flat Plate.......

If you have P/Steering,... You should be Just Fine with the Flat Plate......

If Not,.... Go for the Smaller 1.......

Excuse my potential ignorance (it abounds) but because the trim tab compensates for the torque of the prop, wouldn't the lack of said tab necessitate that the outdrive be slightly turned during straight travel to compensate for the same tourqe? If you have power stearing, this wouldn't likely effect driveability, but wouldn't the angle of the leg increase the drag and possibly knock a little off of performance? Also, because of direction of force from the outdrive, wouldn't the boat tend to be pitched to one side during straight travel in this case?

Re: prop question too big??

Newer Bravos and Alphas with power steering do not have a tab. They have the flat plate. The 1995 5.7 TBI Alpha I installed straight out of the crate from Merc was this way, and I have a 2001 Bravo 1, 6.2 now. Both have flat zinc, no trim tab.
