Hi folks,

I have a prop that I would like to replace, but can't seem to figure out exactly what it is. These are the numbers on the hub: 48 78118 A40 17P - I assume that the 17P is the pitch, but I don't know what the diameter is or even who makes it. Any input on what these numbers stand for would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to find the same brand, just to match the pitch and diameter because the prop performs very well for me. I know I could probably just measure it to get some idea, but I know it was refinished at one point, so who knows what size it was. How much or what difference does the diameter of your prop make?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Prop question

Start with the make, model and year of your engine or outdrive unit, BBB. Then all you need to know is what pitch you want.

Look in any of a half dozen boating equipment catalogs or go to west.com and look in their online catalog.

Good luck.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Re: Prop question

Looks like a Quicksilver part #. Matching the dia. & pitch on a different brand prop will not perform like your old one.

Re: Prop question

is it in bad shape, if you are happy with the preformance why change????? You can have props rebuilt probably cheaper then replacement.
