I have a 87 8 hp rude, sitting on a 12 foot aluminum v hull boat. I don't know the pitch of it but i do know it is the original prop.

Here is my question. When i'm at wot it rides really rough, the bow is up and down up and down, would a different prop change this or is this part of having a 12 foot aluminum boat?
thanks

Re: Prop question

Check your pitch by look at the numbers stamped on the prop. And for going up and down no it wont change that.. thats ur tilt on the back of the motor. Change your tilt and you should be good to go.

Re: Prop question

Weight distribution has a lot to do with performance on a boat your size. From my experience with a lightweight like that I couldn’t sit on the back seat to steer, I had to use a throw cushion in front of that on the floor. If you can spare the room you can try moving the fuel tank to the front too.

Re: Prop question

thanks always broke, that's a good idea, i already put the fuel tank in the middle and that helps a bit. keep my dog up front but she doesn't really like the rocking too much, well maybe it's time to put the wife in front, but then she has to go fishing with me. Perhaps i will just put dead weight in the front
