Re: Prop question

you need to give more info.Post what your intended uses for the boat are and what performance areas are important to you (top speed, hole shot, better control, cruising efficiency, etc.) you also to need to know your max RPM of your boat with your current prop.usally a 150 HP should max out at 5500 RPM but always check your owners manual.the diamiter and pitch should be written on the prop you will see something like 15x19 the first number being your diameter and the second being your pitch if you are over revving then you need to go down in pitch and if you are not getting enough RPM then you need to increase in pitch. a rough rull of thum is going down one inch in pitch will be a gain of 200 RPM and going up in pitch will be a loss of 200 RPM.i would recommend testing some props out before buying

Re: Prop question

Boy it is late !!!

Down in Pitch = More RPM

Up in Pitch = Less RPM

Is I think what hitace was trying to say.
You also need to provide a lot more info to get realistic advice about a prop selection. Current prop on what kind of boat gives what speed at what rpm, your usual load in the boat and what you would like to see different in performance with the change out.
There are several experts out here that will give you their expert advice but you must give as much info as possible to get a proper diagnosis.
