I have a 1964 60hp Johnson motor that needed a prop and I bought one the other day and the only thing that came with it was (prop, hub and pin) Now the question is, is that all that consist with or is it missing something else like a (rubber bushing?) that was posted by JB.Thanks in advance.

Re: Prop Question?

you need the thrust washer, that goes on before the prop, to keep the edges of the prop from wearing on the lower unit hub. best to see a dealer.

Re: Prop Question?

i don't know what you are talking about. other than the rubber bushing that is built into the prop between the 2 metal hubs. did you have a spun prop?

i went back thru your post, and could not find what you are referencing, to what JB said.

Re: Prop Question?

Tony, Shearpin drive props on OMC Products had only the shearpin, prop, plastic cone and cotterpin. There was no thrusthub, at least on my '61 Big twin or my Fat-Fifties. The inside of the prop was a bronze hub, which connected to the aluminum prop blades via a hidden rubber hub.

Re: Prop Question?

Chris has it correct, but there was a "thrust washer" that went on before the shear pin, after the propeller. It is part number 304576.

If you have the "heavy duty" case, that splits along the line of the propeller shaft, the washer is part number 305498.
