prop seal replacement

Ok, I am going to replace the prp seals on my 115 evinrude, how do you do this, is it hard to do??? looks like form the parts diagram, pull the prop off pull the thrust washer and the 2 seals should slide out???? At least thats what I'm hopin for...LOL!!! and the seals go back to back?

ok, so i got the prop off, how do you get those seals out????

You need to pull the carrier, it requires a puller. Did you pressure test the gearcase and find the leak was there?

Ezeke, no I didnt pressure test. Just figured the prop seals have never been changed, and at first glance they seemed easier to change than any of the internal ones. I don't have a pressure tester is another problem...LOL!!! I really figured I would change them, refill, run the boat and see if the oil cleaned up, if not I would dig deeper into it. I put new o-rings on the vent and fill, but thats not it. What kind of puller do you use to get that off, all I have is a 3 jaw puller and I know it is too big to fit in the gearcase.
