I have a 1997 bass tracker pro 18 with a 1998 40hp force motor #0E311084. I tore the prop up pretty good need a new one . The prop that is on there now is a quick silver #2084 r15. The boat went a blistering 24 mph with 2 people on it Im not sure but I dont think it ever went over 5000 rpm. If this is all it will do I,m fine with it I use the trolling motor 80% of the time anyways. I,m not sure what pitch would give me the best over all performance or what type prop? Thanks Scott

Re: Prop selection help

To evaluate your setup we need the info requested in "read this first" at the top of the page.
you may have to do some test runs. A stainless prop usually will give best all around performance but cost about 3 times that of an aluminum, aluminum can do a good job.If you boat where hard contact is likely the ss cost more to repair.Ss will hold up better in soft contact(mud and sand) where al may crumple too easily.

Is the speed by gps?It appears by the numbers in the first post you have a 15" prop.
Your speed doesn't add up.Speed at 5000 would be about 30 to 35.

Re: Prop selection help

The numbers I gave on my first post were stamped on the side of the prop.I thought they were the prop numbers. Took the prop off and found another set of numbers on the back side of the prop they are F-10.13x15p.I,m not sure of the wot rpm .I dont ever remember seeing it go over 5000.Top speed is around 24mph with 2 in the boat. The speed is not by gps.I have a plastic pitot so I guess its from the pressure thru the plastic tube.

Re: Prop selection help

With the lack of baseline with accurate rpm and gps speed I think stick with a 15" prop. Solas has a good reputation.
If you get us a base line with the new prop we may be able to help find more speed.
Check out "Read this first" at the top of the main prop page.
