Prop shaft seal queries

I have noticed oil dripping from my propshaft seal (it is very cold here at the moment, southern New Zealand).

The outboard is a 97 Johnson 30. Unfortunately I do not have a service manual.

My question is can I replace just the seal on the prop shaft without dismantling the gear case or replacing other seals? Or is it best o buy a whole gear case seal unit and go right through it?

I have had a skid around on the web and it looks like this is the correct kit?

If I just need to replace the seal does anyone know the part number?

I use the boat in saltwater, should I flush the gearbox (with kerosene?) or something to get rid of potential saltwater contamination? and how would I go about this?

many thanks

John
