Hey all, so weather finally warmed a bit so I rolled the Outdrive out from the corner of the garage to start sanding it down for my refinishing project and noticed an oil spot on the floor. Went to feel around for oil on the Outdrive and there's a bit coming out of the prop area. It wasn't leaking anything prior to winter when I put it to sleep. Changed the oil before I took it off the boat. Could the prop shaft seal go just like that? Difficult to replace?
Thanks in advance

Drain and do a pressure/ vacuum test.
Then if the lower leaks, replacing the prop shaft seal isn't too hard .
Just make sure you have all the oil out.

Ok, so finally got around to making my pressure tester, draining and testing. It's losing pressure pretty rapidly. Sprayed he hole thing down with soapy water and went through the whole thing with a light. Didn't see anything that looked like a leak but did hear some bubbling at the prop shaft area. Guess the prop shaft seal is the culprit. I've read through the manual and it appears that this job requires special tools which I don't have. Is this something better left to the repair shop?
