Prop Shaft

i have a 1991 volvo penta 430b with a spc-1 outdrive. I trying to find a reconditioned prop shaft(volvo part # 854657) Can anyone direct me to a site, shop or store that sells reconditioned shafts. I haven't had any luck yet.

Never heard of a reconditioned shaft, you can either find new or used.
You local Volvo dealer may be your best bet for a used one as well. Take your old shaft some of the dimensions change in small increments which makes them hard to buy used online.

I have seen them on ebay but not very many of them

Can I use a different lower unit with this spc-1 outdrive I've read that the 280 lower united can be used. I wasn't sure if the Volvo Pentagon lower units were interchangeable.
