Re: Prop size

Did you get an answer to the above question? If so I would like to know as well...I am in need of replacing my prop as well.

Re: Prop size

There usually is no "factory" prop on motors over 40hp.
But since these Ldrive boats were produced as a unit, maybe they did.

Re: Prop size

My guess would be a 17 pitch like the other 17 ft boats BUT it may not be right for you. You need a tach and an acurate speedo or better yet a GPS.

You will then push the throttle WIDE open! Measure the speed and the RPMs.

Then if your RPMs are in the upper area of the recommended range thats your normal speed.
If your in the lower end of the recommended range and you are unloaded then you will need to get a LOWER pitch prop like a 15.

If your RPMs are higher than the recommended range and your unloaded you will need a higher pitch prop like a 19.

Engines run best in the recommeded RPM range. That why you need a tachometer. You must also know the range your engine run best at.

We cannot know whats best for you and your boat!

Just for grins if the prop has a cup ,bent a bit on the end, you are running 1 pitch higher than whats on the prop.
