Got 88 Jhonson 110 with 13.1/4 15"P on 86 16' starecraft 16' bow rider. Change prop to 12 3/4" 23P. Good/bad idea?

Without rpm data it's just a guess.

But for sure, if the 23P works, the 15 pitch must be Reallllllly BAD.

Most prop changes are 1 or 2 inch pitch changes. Going up 8 inches sounds like a disaster.

You really need to run the boat at WOT. If the RPMs exceed 5500, then prop pitch needs to go up. Figure on 400RPM drop for every 2" of pitch added to prop pitch.

Why change at all? What's wrong with your current prop?

Provide more details and we can better advise.

One more thing. Run boat at WOT with normal load and max trim and then record max RPM.
