prop sizing questions

I have a 91 Malibu flightcraft with a 200 hp 2 stroke mercury on back. it runs well into the mid fiftys for speed which is more speed than I actually need. it has a 15 1/4 x 19p quicksilver stainless 3 blade prop on it. was thinking of going to a 17p 4 blade stainless, but all of the ones I can find are 14.5" diameter. I use the boat primarily for skiing, so am looking for a prop that will give me a more solid feel when cutting. will this diameter change effect my performance negatively or will the extra blade more than make up for the smaller diameter. Thanks for your help

I would say the extra blade will more then make up for the loss in diameter.

The diameter is smaller because there is more blade area and more drag.
I think you will find it stays hooked up much better.
The 4 blade usually improves hole shot, will stay on plane better at reduced throttle
and may respond better around the dock.
Usually suggested to drop one inch in pitch when going to a 4 blade, to maintain rpm, going to the 17 may add some rpm.
Will also add additional hole shot.
