8 hp Nissan 2 stroke
I took my wife and two kids on a dinghy ride today and while going up river it felt as if the prop was cavitating so I throttled down and let the dinghy come to rest. When I throttled up again the prop was spinning but we weren't moving like we should have been. The motor was at full throttle but we were moving at little more than idle speed. I got back to the dock and took the prop off hoping to find a shear pin. There is no shear pin on the prop shaft so I took the prop shaft out and everything looked ok. I put the shaft back in, put the motor back on the boat and tried it out. Now it not only doesn't work as it should but I don't have a neutral. I can start it in the neutral position but I go. Also can't shift into reverse. What do I need to do to fix this problem? Thanks.
