Re: Prop Stollen

You need a tach to find the best pitch as it is important to reach recommended rpm range at wot. For your motor it's 5000-5500. To end up with only one prop you'd better find a prop shop that'll let you test a couple of props before deciding. Depending on the actual circumstances, load, rig shape and more, I'd suggest you start with a 17" or 19". You're even going to decide on prop material (alu, stainless, composite) and prop type/design. The latter can be discussed after you test run as the more sophisticated designs can solve problems (if any) with performance.

You should even consider the risc of hitting stuff or grounds with the prop as different materials withstand damage differently.

You may also want to call a prop shop and explain what boat and motor you have. Usually they cam come real close on the pitch you need.
