Prop stops at higher rpm's

1979 Wellcraft Nova 250 XL, chevy 305 (898) with Volvo Penta 280.

Everything has run fine until now. Runs smoothly up to 2600 rpms, as power is increased it seems that it shifts into neutral. The boat almost stops and revs go 4000+ before I can throttle back.

Pull the prop and check the hub.

Ayuh,.... A real Mutt eh,..?? Merc power with a Volvo drive,..??

It's Probably a spun prop hub, or a spun motor Coupler...
