Prop strike question

So we were just pulling out from the shore and did not see a rock. I was just about getting onto the throttle, so maybe first 2-3 seconds.
It hit and took a chunk out of the aluminum prop. I'd say about an inch is missing from one blade. it was still attached when I took it out but broke of when I touched it.
Motor is 140hp 1991 Evinrude, 25 inch leg with V4 gear case (13 spline).
I'm wondering if there is worry about any damage to the drive shaft and is there an easy way to test it with out taking lower apart.
We ended up being towed back to shore and have not tested it in the lake. Just did a test with the hose attached and it was ok but did not test full speed.
I guess the prop is no-reparable as a used one is about $40-$60.
Thanks

with the prop off, do you see any wobble to the prop when running. if not, dont worry about it.

What were the symptoms that prompted you to get towed in?? Most would take a look at the prop and try to keep running.Vibration would usually be the problem if nothing else was damaged.Charlie

If you were not having any vibration, then run it and grab another one to have on hand.

That prop is repairable. It would blow my mind if anything else, besides the skeg, got damaged.

I can't get it fixed for $40, which is the cost of purchasing two in good condition from craigslist.
I had an unrelated engine issues that it would not run at 3500rpm and would only run well at 5000 (ish) and I did not want to wreck the drive train with unbalanced prop. I guess I would not have hit the rock if my skeg was not missing. (1/2 of it was gone at the time I bought it)

Thanks for reassurance guys, will put a new prop and get it going again :)
