prop swap

I just purchased a 2002 mercury 2 stroke 125hp
There's no prop on the new motor
I'm removing a 1986 Force 125hp motor with a 13x19 stainless steel prop
The prop worked well with my 19' Bayliner cuddy
Any chance the old prop will fit the new motor
I don't have the new motor yet, it wont arrive till next week
If not does anyone know which models and years will fit the new motor?
That way I can get a headstart hunting e-bay
Thanks

Re: prop swap

All I'd do is go to the iBoats Marine store (link is near the top at the left) and pick a prop for both motors and see if they are the same or not.

Re: prop swap

I think you will find that while the Force has a 4 inch gearcase diameter, the Mercury has a 4 1/4 or 4 1/2 inch diameter gearcase.

While the prop shaft splines and length are the same, the metal hub of the Force prop itself is smaller and on the Mercury, exhaust will blow out around it, fouling the blades.

In short, No! I don't think they are interchangeable.
