What diameter, # of blades and pitch are you guys running on the same or similar boat?

Mine runs good but with a full load on the river, it has issues planing. I had a cracked head so just got that fixed. I'm thinking my timing might be a bit off but figured I throw the question out there.

I'm running a 4 blade, 15.25", 24P on a 1995 22' Scarab w/7.4L, Bravo 1

We will need a little more information to give you any kind of good information.
What is your WOT now (wide Open Throttle)
If you go down in prop pitch it is going to give you a better hole shot and getting up on plane easier but you may lose some top end. Depending on what you are running at WOT.
Mine is a 24 foot Arriva with a 454 330hp and I run a 23p and I don't have a lot out of the hole but will run 55ish. but am only running around RPM at WOT. So I am going to try a 21p to see what that does. Hope that helps a little.

I tested a "loaner" 22P last weekend and hit right around 4400 RPM but didn't swap back to the 24 to get an accurate comparison as I was in a rush. Couldn't a MPH reading as I forgot my GPS, I know, lame move. Outdrive has a nose cone so speedo doesn't work.

Then I guess the question is, did the 22p get you on plane faster? 4400 is pretty close to what you are looking for I think it is maxed at 4600. And if you are not that worried about top end then it looks like you have the right prop..

Not quite sure because the planing delay happens when fully+ loaded and with the 22P there were only 2 on board.

Guess the biggest thing is, are you more worried about getting on plane faster and better hole shot or top speed? If it is hole shot then the lower pitch prop is what ya need it it is top speed then as high as your motor will push. If you are concerned about both then you just have to pick a happy medium that it isn't the "best" at either but it is acceptable. The only other choice is to change the prop if you know you are going to have a lot of people in the boat. Which would be a pain. Good luck.
