Prop?

I have a 1983 Evin. 15hp and since the prop. is the original, and through extensive use has aquired dings and dents, and although I've been able to file the edges to make it through this past year, I noticed a drop in performance(well, as much performance one can expect from a 15hp) and was wondering whether it would be beneficial to go with a 4 blade prop, or stick with the three blade. I do some scuba-diving but mostly running around and of course, fishing, but between my dad an I, with the scuba gear, the boats weight limit is maxed out. The other question I had was what pitch to go with. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Prop?

If this prop has performed good for you in the past and allows the correct WOT RPM, I'd replace it with the same size and pitch. I would then have the original repaired and keep it for a spare...you can never have too many spares and there WILL come a day when you'll be glad you had the spare.<br />As for a 4-blade on that size of engine, the only thing you would gain would be a reduced top-end, and a smaller wallet.

Thanks for the input, i was thinking along the same lines myself. the only reason i asked about the 4-blade was that i was told it had better push. thnx again
