My propane BBQ still has the "old" style fitting on the supply hose. I've always been good about changing the o-ring, so never bothered changing to the newer style as the old one still fits the tanks.

I've always just gone into a hardware store and bought a pack of the o-rings labelled for BBQs.
I tried 5 stores yesterday, and no luck.
I googled "Propane BBQ o-ring size" and various combinations and found lots of discussions about how important it is to change them regularly....but nothing about the correct size.

Anyone know the correct spec? Material should be BUNA because of the temp I'd suspect.

O-ring are specified by od and cross section. Sizes are standardized so match your measurements to a sizing chart. Material not much of a concern in that application ... durability would be a bigger concern. My preference is viton for pretty much everything .....overkill in this situation

That is incorrect. O-rings are specified by ID and cross section. Here's a link to a great referance manual for o-rings.
