Hi ,I have just bought a old but lightly used evinrude ski twin poss 1960 s which appears in nice condition ,. I haven't struck it up yet as im waiting for a fuel pipe from the fuel tank to engine ,but have noticed some free play on the prop , about 1/4 of a turn to be exact . can anyone tell me if this is normal or do i have problems in the gears . I think it is 33hp model .

Re: propeller free play

Normal - the propshaft will turn as the clutch dog ears move to engage the ears on the gear. The ears are 90 degrees apart and will result in the play you are seeing.
