hi, I have a 170hp merc inboard, outboard on a 19 ft regal sebring. It has a 14x19 three blade prop that revs out at 4600 rpm, which is right at the max for that engine. My question is this, if I want to put a four blade prop on ,would you go with a 14.5x18 or a 14.5 x20. Thanks

Re: propeller pitch delema

When going to a 4 blade you'll typical drop a pitch to make up for the added bite of the extra blade. Why the 4 blade? Are you looking for a better holeshot or better bite when pulling skiers/tubes? If speed if the goal, stay where you are. If power is the goal, drop a pitch or two.
