I recently lost my propeller for my 89 Bayliner Capri 17' boat (L-Drive). I lost everything the nut, washer, spacer & Spline washer. I have no idea what size my impeller was or how to get any of these parts. Can anyone tell me what size & pitch my propeller should be? Were can I get the rest of the harware for a new propeller?

Thanks

Re: Propeller Question

It seems I read here somewhere the outdrive portion of the Ldrive is a standard Force outboard lower unit.I believe some Mercury dealers carry Force parts.Post your prop size question in the prop forum be sure to list boat size and hp.and your typical activities. They may be able to help with the other parts as well. You may find the nut right here at iboats.18-3700.

Re: Propeller Question

Any Mercury dealer can fix you up.
But proper prop pitch may be trial and error.

You can't write that and not tell how you lost it!

Re: Propeller Question

I have an 89, 17' Maxum. Pretty similar boat, with an 85 hp Force outboard. It came with a 15 pitch prop. With just me in the boat I can turn 5500 rpm and 36 mph on the boats speedo. I'm assuming here that your power head is 85 hp because of your boats 17' length. Your choices here are probably a bit slim. I believe the only options are between a 15 and 17 pitch prop. If your previous rpm and speed are close to mine you my want to try a 15 pitch prop.
