propeller shaft////5 hp gamefisher

i snapped a propeller shaft,,hit a large rock on bottom,,,,,,,i cannot figure out how to get the thing out,,,,the new one shows 3 holes,,,,1 as being the nut cotter pin ,,,,,the only other thing i see is just a tiny hole maybe a pin,,,,,,,then the prop end has some kinda solid ring,,,,,,anybody ever change one of these?,,,,,,,,its a gamefisher 5 hp

wow how big of a rock did you hit and how fast were you going? your lucky it wasn't a lot worse.the main drive gear has a large and small roll pin holding it on the shaft, you will need a punch the same size as the hole or actually a tiny bit smaller works best. place punch on the roll pins and drive them out about halfway, rotate the shaft 1/2 turn and pull out with a pair of vise grip pliers.thats what the service manual shows. don't know if there is enough room to drive them all the way out so try it the service manual way, it sure would suck if you got them most of the way out and got them stuck against the housing,then you'd really be up the river without a paddle.good luck
