Hi guy's,

It popped into my mind that there is no such things as PERFECT except obviously...My Wife ( laugh)but seriously.

I have a customer that's willing to go a very far route to '' surpass '' almost every living engine on the area..

With An Hydrostream, Vision, 17', and an Mariner eng. 175hp, ready to be jacked and set back 10''. The Prop is a Cleaver 28'' .

What could be the slip % that we maight expect IF every thing is set right ?? .

and what would be a '' start point '' for parameters like Raise, set-back, and max RPM on this engine. (1993 Mariner 175, 2L )

Jacko

Re: Propeller's SLIP ( yeahhhh oupsss )

slip is bassed on rpm /speed what speed should be, to what it realy is = slip mine alum slips more then ss, i know cleaver is racing prop so slip will be less then mine

boat motor 28 pitch 1.62 gear ratio running 6000 rpm

28/1.62=17.28

17.28 x 6000 = 103680

103680/63,360=1.63 miles per minute

1.63 x 60= 97.8 mph

97.80 x .85 = 83.13 with 15% slippage

this is sample way to figure out slip just run your boat and see what your speed is this should help
