Im still quite new to this site, and although i have read some posts about proper engine care, i must admit i am still undecided as to what is best. I have a 1971 Evinrude 60 hp triumph. The engine hadn't been run in a long time(7 years...stored with gas, tank not full) and the carberators were gummed and varnished and the fuel pump was bad. I have now had the carberators completey rebuilt and new hoses put in and the new fuel pump. Basically i am looking for any good advice as to how to keep this motor clean and running to the best of its capabilities. This includes intermitant cleaning and winterization, or anything i may have to do to keep it going good. Thanks

Re: Proper Engine Care

Thanks, i wish be sure to use that site as a reference when i winterize the boat this fall....Something else i've been wondering is if Sea Foam is best used in a 12 gallon full fuel tank while engine is going to be run at varying speeds and over a period of time, or is it best used running small amounts of it through a small tank at idle for a half an hour?
