proper link setting oil pump,1990 225,v-6

[MID FL CAP]

I have a manual and in different place ,I get conflicting instuctions on how to adjust linkage rod,either with pump at minnium,and another place it says at maxium.just wondering which way to go!!

I have 93 150 and they might be the same procedure. In my book it says to close your carbs all the way by means of the idle screw. Then you adjust the oil linkage to where the pump is closed. Then you adjust the idle screw and it will open the th pump some. I have the oem manual and it can be confusing on some things. But like I said that's the way mine are suppose to be adjusted.
