proper placement of coil ground wire?

Hey I have a '57 evinrude 7.5. Saw on this website about changing points,coils and condensers and in the picture it shows the coil ground wire is close to the condenser and points? But on (outboar-boat-motor- repair) website it says " The black wire of the coil is grounded by connecting it to the coil mounting screw that is farthest away from the points." whose right or does it matter?

It's connected to the coil mounting screw. It doesn't matter but it's neater.

They are supposed to be connected as shown here. But ground is ground. (Coil locating ring tool shown in place)
