Hello fellas,
I am down to the nitty gritty with my 1986 125hp force. My question is should the prop & plastic hub that goes on after the prop be drawn up tight by the flat washer & locknut? The prop shaft splines are about 1/16" longer than the prop and plastic hub which dont allow the washer and nut to "draw up" tight. The prop shaft itself has about 1/32" endplay due to the trust bearing clearance. On top of that is the 1/16" that the prop can move on the prop shaft. Should I make a custom washer to go over the spline diameter after the prop and the plastic hub are on to take up this 1/16" or is this condition o.k?
Thanks,
Tom
