I have an 87 22' Doral Tara cuddy with a v6 cobra i/o, prop is a 14/15 no idea as to what would be the proper pitch to allow me to fish with downriggers as well as long lines with dippsys. (I'm thinking speeds some where between 1.5 and 3.5 mph) I am hoping to get into walleyes and lakers on Lakes Erie, St. Clair. Any help at this stage would make mama a happy person as she LOVES :) fresh fish. If I can please her with fresh fish then she just might like me  buying the boat a lot more!
I am not interested in what it will do WOT as I am a pleasure  craft person NOT a speed freek

Remember people if you stair at it long enough someone will come along and do it for you.

Re: Proper prop for fishing??

2 methods I know of that we have used. A trolling plate that attaches to the cavitation plate and swings down behind the prop causing the prop to cavitate. You can raise your outdrive up to an acceptable (safe) height which will also cause prop slip but makes steering difficult.
