Proper prop for QD-22?

Hi all. So I took the boat out to day, hit a stump and broke a shear pin in my '61 QD-22 10hp (no big deal). However, after I was putting the new one in and reinstalling the prop I looked at the part number and dimensions stamped on the prop. I compared the number on the prop to the one on my parts manual and they don't match :/ My manual says my prop, part #46, should be 377635. My current prop says 387334 (d/2) 8" x 7". It's not a huge big deal as the prop is fine and everything is working again, but I'm wondering if that might be the source of my inability to get on plane. I seem to recall other 10hp of the era taking a 9" x 11" or 11 1/2" prop. Would a little larger prop help get me on plane, or should I quit while I'm ahead? Thanks.

377635 prop is correct. No a larger prop will not get you on plain faster. Good luck

Thanks Monte. Do you know why there would be a discrepancy between the manual number and the part number on the the prop itself? Just curious. Thanks again.

So does that mean the PO put on a smaller or larger? I couldn't find the dimensions on what the original prop "should" be. I found a '60 QD-21 prop for sale on ebay that is 8.2" x 9", rather than the 8" x 7" on mine. Maybe that's what I need, after all.?.

that prop is bigger kfa4303 dont think you wanna do that. If you can find an inductive timing light that has a rpm meter in it, look to see what it is at wot and post that back. you should be turning in the 5000 rpm area!
