Proper Prop?

Hello.
I'm unsure of what prop I should be using on my boat. My cuttent setup is:

16.8' Skeeter Bass boat
1988 110 HP V4 Johnson

I've tried 2 props on it. 13.25 X 17 and 13 X 19 both OMC aluminum props. With the 17" pich prop it goes pretty good but at WOT and bow trimmed all the way up it runs at 74 km/h at 6000 RPM. (Motor's redline is 5500)Then I tried the 19" prop, but I think the hub is slipping in it because the motor revs up really fast with this prop, but the boat dosen't actually move. Also at WOT it's revving at 6000 RPM at the same speed. (I think the hub is slipping or the prop is cavitating.)

Now my question is with my configuration I want the RPMs at WOT trimmed all the way up with a light load to be no more then 5500 rpm. Should I get my 19" pich prop repaired or should I be looking at a 21" pitch prop? If so what outer diameter?

Thanks

Re: Proper Prop?

The 19 pitch prop should lower RPM about 400 and would apparently be ideal. To check if the 19 is spun, place a mark on the hub and another on the outer part of the prop in-line with the first mark. Make a test run to duplicate the problem, then check the alignment of the marks. If they are still lined up the prop is not spun. If they aren't aligned, it is spun.
