Being new to my boat and motor... I wanted to know a little more about using the pressure fuel tank I have. 50s era.

Once I am under way and using the motor, I understand pressure is key.

However, if I am trolling down the river, and its hot...do I need to constantly release the pressure?

OR, once I am no longer using the motor... loosen the cap until I plan to get back underway?

Just looking for some general pointers, tips, and insight into this style of fuel system.

Using a Evinrude 55' 7.5hp Fleetwin.

Thx.

When preparing to get underway, connect the line and pump the pressure up using the plunger button. Then start the motor. When in the water running (or even drifting with the engine off) don't touch a thing. When you are finished boating for the day and the motor is finally turned off, release the pressure by cracking the tank cap open, and then disconnect the plug from the engine. Then, close the cap again so you don't vent dangerous gas fumes into your garage or the bilge after you put the cover back on the boat.
