Well I've never been able to actually get my little 12' aluminum mountain lake fishing boat up on plane. Not that it needs to, just that I need it to; it's pushed by an 82 7.5hp Merc. So I had a few too many beers while watching an ebay auction last night and am now the proud owner of a 92 15hp Merc. That ought to get it up. But anyway one of these little motors will end up as a kicker for the 18' Valco Bayrunner powered by a 60hp Merc. I understand the theory behind propping the main motor, is there any theory regarding a little motor that idles for trolling most all the time? And also how many splines on a 15 Merc prop shaft? Thanks.
