I have twin outboards that are overpropped and am trying to find economical replacements. I was able to get hold of a stainless 15 x 17. If I get an aluminum 15x17 for the other engine, will their be a significant performance difference or will it cause problems?

I see no problem in running that way. You need to understand the the SS will be more efficient than the Al prop. This means that if you sync both engines at the same rpm that you will be getting more thrust from the one with the SS prop. If you do this start saving for the second SS prop.

Thanks! That's what I was hoping to hear. Having to run the engines at different rpm's is an improvement over my current situation: max rpm 4000 at wot and needing to tow a fuel barge behind me. I appreciate the help.
