Does anyone know if compprops are any good was thinking of getting one. And could some one pease reccomend a prop pitch and diamater for a 100V4 on a 19.5ft Aluminum deep v. Thanks
I've read several articles testing comprops against conventional aluminum and SS props and the consensus seems to be that they perform OK, but not nearly as well as the metal props. As far as a recommendation for a prop diameter and pitch, it would be helpful to know your current DxP and what RPM the motor turns at WOT.
I purchased a comprop for my pontoon, and hope I never have to use it. I purchased it because it is cheap.
Now if I am out on our lake (we live on) with a pontoon load of people, and I break a blade, I can make a quick change, and get them home.
I then will buy a new SS prop, and stow the comprop back in a bunker, for another possible emergency.
Walt
